The Killarney House System
Welcome to another great year at Killarney Elementary. This is the second year of implementation for our school-wide “House
System” that fosters community
for all Killarney students and staff members. What do we mean? Every student
and staff member is sorted into one of four houses, or
teams, at Killarney. These houses are
named
after each of the character traits of our Killarney Creed. Each day students
chant the Killarney Creed, which states students are “goal oriented,
outstanding citizens, lifelong learners, determined to succeed!” We believe
they truly are. This system encourages students
and staff to live out those characteristics on a daily basis by awarding points
to students when positive behaviors are portrayed. Those points are
tallied
weekly and awarded to the houses. House points are
displayed
around
the school, so students know the position of each house in the standings. We
are very excited to continue recognizing when students
give their best each day at school. Below you
will find important information that will help families support Killarney in continuing
to make the House System a success!
What are the names of the houses?
- Teziti: Goal Oriented (Red Team)
- Kupa: Outstanding Citizens (Blue Team)
- Isazi: Lifelong Learners (Yellow Team)
- Bepaal: Determined to Succeed (Purple Team)
How do students earn points?
Students earn points by displaying positive behaviors, strong character, and making wise choices, such as showing respect, displaying acts of kindness, using manners, cooperating in teams, and so much more! Students may not ask for points, but will be awarded when noticed by a teacher or staff member on campus.
Thank you for your support! We
are G.O.L.D!
Congratulations to our 2016-2017
House Champions, Bepaal!
