Welcome to Killarney Elementary School. As principal, I feel especially privileged to work with a highly qualified and dedicated staff, wonderfully talented students, and caring and supportive parents, who are all “Committed to Excellence.”

We anticipate a great deal of excitement as we transition into 21st Century Learning. All students now have digital devices, which will be utilized in conjunction with quality classroom instruction to deliver a rigorous and engaging education. Smart Boards have been installed in each classroom, and will play an active role in the delivery of daily instruction. We genuinely look forward to sharing with you all of our new technology during the 2020-2021 school year.

Students are most successful when families and teachers work together as a team. Research shows that parental involvement results in higher levels of academic achievement, positive attitudes, greater maturity and responsibility. It is family enthusiasm and support that inspire children to do their best, and enhance a teacher's ability to have the greatest impact on student learning. It is my honor to provide a guiding hand as we engage in the educational process together.

At this time, I strongly encourage you to become actively involved in the life of our school community. Whether you choose to join the PTA or our School Advisory Council (SAC), attend our educational curriculum family sessions, or sign up to be a school ADDitions volunteer, your support and participation will be tremendously valuable to our students. Together we can achieve wonderful things!

I am pleased to report that everyone at Killarney is ready and eager to take on the challenges of the current school year. Especially impressive were the commitment and dedicated efforts of the Killarney staff over the summer to prepare for a successful school re-opening. Teachers have invested considerable time, energy and creativity into getting ready for the return of students – both virtual and face-to-face.

The Killarney staff, faculty, and administration recognize that there is no greater responsibility than the fulfillment of our promise to facilitate the social, emotional and educational growth of the students entrusted to our care, and we appreciate the trust you have placed in us to deliver on that promise. Here’s to a great school year!
