Arrival and Dismissal

Students should arrive at school no earlier than 8:00 am. Student supervision begins at 8:00 am. Children should not be dropped off at the car loading area located on the east side of the school. Please do not drop off at the bus loading areas or the front parking lot. If your child arrives at 8:15 or later a parent must walk the child into the front office and sign-in.

Early Departures
If you need to pick your child up early you must send in a note (or write in the planner) with the time they will be picked up. Should you forget to send a note in the morning, you must fax a note to the school with the information at 407-623-1437. If there is an emergency, you must call the school and speak to an administrator. All students leaving campus during school hours, must be signed out in the front office by a parent or guardian. If anyone other than the parent (or authorized adult listed on the emergency information card) is to pick up the child, the parent will need to notify the office. Identification will be checked on all pick-ups. Students will not be released for early pick-up after 2:30 (1:30 on Wednesdays).

Car Rider Procedures
Car riders are released to the cafeteria at 3:00 pm for dismissal on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (2:00 pm on Wednesday). Parents are asked to begin forming the car rider line on Wellington Boulevard no earlier than 2:00 pm. Staff members will identify drivers and assist children when entering their car. PLEASE remain in your car and pull through the car rider line at a slow speed. Green car signs will be distributed to help identify the driver and to expedite the dismissal process. To help the car line move swiftly, the green sign MUST be placed on the dash on the driver's side. Please be aware that if there is not a green Killarney Car Rider Sign displayed, the driver will be required to show ID for approved pick-up. In order to ensure safety, no cell phone use while in the car rider pick-up line is appreciated. Parents will not be permitted to pick students up from the cafeteria to walk them to their car parked in the school lot. Please remain in your car- the process runs smoothly and quickly when everyone follows the same policies.

Note: All car riders are to be picked up by 3:10 pm.

Walker and Bike Rider Procedures
If your child is a walker and/or bike rider, they have the option to enter and exit through the front or back gate. If you will be meeting your child on campus to escort him/her home, please make sure you have the Killarney Walker Sign with you to indicate you are approved for pick up. If you do not have the approved sign, you will be required to sign the child out in the front office.

Bus Rider Procedures
School bus transportation is a privilege provided to eligible students. Any misconduct on the part of the students will be reported to a school administrator. Continued misbehavior on the bus will result in suspension of the students' bus privilege. In this case, it is the responsibility of the parent to provide transportation to and from school. A suspension from the bus may also result in a suspension from school. Students who are bus riders must follow these rules:

  • Stand off the roadway while awaiting the bus.
  • Obey the bus driver. The driver is in charge of the bus and pupils.
  • Remain seated until the bus arrives at the end designated stop or school.
  • Use reasonable voice levels. No yelling, screaming, or loud talking.
  • Sit in designated seats when assigned.
  • No eating or drinking on the bus.
  • Ride assigned bus only.
